Marine collagen and creatine: why beauty brands are launching this duo, and how to manufacture it in France

In late October 2026, a British brand launched a drink combining marine collagen, creatine and hyaluronic acid, reporting a rise of more than 6,000% in searches for "collagen and creatine" in one year. At the same time, the beauty launches at SupplySide Global were drinks and chewable formats. What this duo changes for nutricosmetic brands, and how to produce it as a private label in Saumur, France, by the Irati Production R&D team.

Key facts
  • Marine collagen and creatine now share the same routine: skin and strength in one daily gesture
  • Reference dosages are 5 to 10 g of collagen and 3 to 5 g of creatine per day
  • Only vitamin C, zinc and creatine carry authorised claims in Europe; collagen and hyaluronic acid have none
  • The growing formats are drink powders, single-dose stick packs and pectin-based gummies
  • Irati Production manufactures all three formats in Saumur, France, with a standard creatine + collagen stick pack formula

A beauty routine that also goes to the gym

For ten years collagen was the beauty active and creatine the athletes' active. The two audiences are merging: women aged 30 to 55, the first buyers of beauty supplements, are also the ones who adopted creatine from 2024, first for strength and recovery, then as a daily habit. Searches for "creatine for women", "creatine or collagen" and "creatine vs collagen" have taken a lasting place in Google.

The launch of 29 October, reported by the trade press, formalises this meeting: 5 g of marine collagen, 5 g of creatine and 120 mg of hyaluronic acid in a raspberry-yuzu drink. Other brands, in the United States and then in Europe, already sell vanilla creatine + collagen powders to take in the morning. The message is simple: one routine for skin, joints and strength. In France the offer is still rare. The space is open for brands that offer this duo made in France.

Dosages and raw materials: what makes a credible formula

Marine collagen is dosed between 5 and 10 g per day, in line with published clinical studies on collagen peptides. Hydrolysed fish peptides are the most used in beauty: soluble, neutral in taste when well selected, and compatible with pork-free and beef-free diets. Irati Production works with marine collagens from certified fisheries or aquaculture, according to the brand's specifications.

Creatine monohydrate remains the reference, with 3 g per day as the threshold of the European claim and 5 g as the most common dose. A hybrid formula with 5 g of collagen and 3 to 5 g of creatine fits in a 10 g stick pack or a scoop of powder from a doypack, which would not be possible in capsules. The duo can be completed with vitamin C, zinc or hyaluronic acid, provided each dose stays consistent with its role.

Taste is the technical point. Creatine is neutral but gritty if poorly dispersed; marine collagen can leave a marine note. The choice of collagen quality, creatine particle size and a fruity flavour-acidulant pairing, raspberry, yuzu or citrus, is settled during the bench trial.

The claims the label can carry

Under Regulation (EC) 1924/2006, collagen and hyaluronic acid have no authorised health claim: they can be in the formula, but the label cannot attribute any effect to them. The promise is built with the nutrients that do have one. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails. Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.

Creatine has its own claim: it increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise, with a daily intake of 3 g. A marine collagen + creatine + vitamin C formula can therefore talk about skin and performance with authorised statements, without aesthetic promises, which would fall under cosmetics or health. Irati Production's regulatory team checks every statement before the first label.

Powder, stick pack or gummies: choosing the format by the dose

The launches seen at SupplySide Global in mid-October all point the same way: beauty is drunk and chewed. Sugar-free collagen drink, chewable ceramide and biotin format, collagen gummy, hyaluronic acid powder blend. Capsules remain useful for small doses, but the collagen + creatine duo requires 8 to 15 g of actives per day, hence a powder.

A 300 g to 500 g doypack suits the morning routine with a scoop. A single-dose stick pack 20, 30 or 40 mm wide suits launches, travel and gift sets: Irati Production already offers a standard creatine + collagen formula in a 5 g stick pack, and a brand may prefer a higher-dosed custom recipe. Pectin-based, gelatin-free gummies carry marine collagen at a gentle daily dose, with vitamin C and zinc, for the beauty audience that does not want powder.

A coherent range can combine all three: powder for daily use, the stick pack for trial and travel, gummies as the entry product. All three come out of the same manufacturing unit.

Your questions

Our answers on the collagen and creatine duo

Can collagen and creatine be taken together?

Yes. The two actives do not interact and are most often taken in the morning, in the same drink. Brands now combine them in a single powder or stick pack, with 5 to 10 g of collagen and 3 to 5 g of creatine. Irati Production manufactures this type of formula for private label in Saumur, France.

Creatine or collagen: which to choose for a beauty range?

They answer different expectations: marine collagen is the expected active in nutricosmetics, creatine is the strength and recovery active that women have adopted since 2024. The duo allows a single routine. For a pure beauty range, Irati Production rather proposes marine collagen with vitamin C and zinc, as a powder or as pectin-based gummies.

Which claims can be used on a collagen + creatine formula?

Collagen and hyaluronic acid have no authorised claim in Europe. The label relies on vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin, on zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, and on creatine, which increases physical performance in short, intense exercise from 3 g per day.

Which format for a marine collagen + creatine formula?

A powder, because the daily dose exceeds 8 g of actives. In a doypack with a scoop for daily use, or in a 10 g single-dose stick pack for launches and travel. Pectin-based gummies suit marine collagen at a gentle dose, not creatine at 3 g.

Who manufactures private label marine collagen and creatine in France?

Irati Production manufactures powders, stick packs and pectin-based gummies with marine collagen and creatine at its site in Saumur, France, ISO 22000 certified, following an HACCP approach and registered with the FDA, with a standard creatine + collagen stick pack formula and custom recipes.
